Construction will begin soon!
Join us in celebrating our groundbreaking occasion. We will start with recognition and appreciation followed by picture opportunities in the courtyard. There will be games, refreshments, and music by The Barb City Stompers. There will be limited parking due to this event, please plan accordingly if you plan to visit the library this day.
Third Street will be officially closed in order to make way for our new building. Temporary parking for patrons will be the two lots across the street from the construction site on Oak. The public city lots are also available and close to the library.
Having difficulty writing your book's love scene? Are you at a loss for words?
Hear from Kourtney Heintz, author of The Six Train to Wisconsin, as she dishes out advice on how to craft your steamy scenes. Bring your questions and your notebook for this unique writing workshop.
This event is free for adults and will be near the fireplace on the main level. Kourtney will have autographed books available for purchase. Refreshments will be served.
Six Train was a 2012 Amazon Breakthrough Novel Awards Semifinalist. Since Six Train’s release in May 2013, Heintz was featured in Connecticut’s Republican American. The article was picked up by the Associated Press and ran nationally. She was also a guest on CT Style. In Wisconsin, she was featured in the Price County Daily and the Park Falls Herald.
She’s been touring with her book during the past 14 months. She started with several local appearances in CT in the spring of 2013 and then headed out to Butternut, WI, to celebrate Pioneer Days in July 2013 with an author reception and rode in their parade. Her book signing in Butternut sold out in under two hours. She was also invited by RJ Julia Booksellers to speak at a local author night in Madison, CT. She spoke and signed books at Hart House at the University of Toronto. She had an author night that included exhibiting her photography from the book and signing books at Salon 2b in New York, NY.
