Youth Services

Welcome to the Youth Services Department of the DeKalb Public Library! Our collection serves infants, toddlers, preschoolers, lower and upper elementary children, middle school (5th - 8th grades), and 9th graders. It contains over 34,000 books, in addition to board books, magazines, books-on-tape, videos, kits (book & cassette), CD's, and puppets. There are six computers for public use in the department. Three are for library catalog access, one Internet station, and one contains children's software such as 'Sim City,' and 'Reader Rabbit.'

Young visitors may enjoy story times and special programs for all ages. There are several story time programs throughout the year. Some are specially designed for toddlers, while others are for preschoolers, school age children, or for families.
