T.A.G. Means Teens!
T.A.G. stands for “Teen Advisory Group.” It’s for teens who love the DeKalb Public Library, are active readers, and, most importantly, want to have their questions answered and opinions heard. As the name suggests,
T.A.G. members will help advise and discuss which items, resources, and programs the DeKalb Public Library needs for its teen patrons. Meetings will include book discussions, strategy sessions, and, yes, PIZZA!
Also, teens do not have to live in DeKalb in order to be a member of T.A.G.—if you use and love our library, then we want you to attend!.
Our first meeting will be on June 5, 2008, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. If you or your teen have any questions, or are interested in joining, please contact program coordinator Steve Roman at 815-756-9568, ext. 2, or
send him an email at
stever@dkpl.org.
Anime Alliance!
Do you like anime, Japanese animation? Do you know somebody who does? If so, then come join our Anime Alliance, the DeKalb Public Library anime club!
This month we’re meeting on May 21, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Each month features something new and different to enjoy! We’ll even provide snacks!
But be warned—we can only accommodate up to twenty teens, so you must sign up ahead of time!
If you have any questions, please call the DeKalb Public Library at 815-756-9568, extension 22, and ask for Steve, the program leader. You can also send Steve an email at
stever@dkpl.org. Remember, though, this group is intended for teens!
